Special Foods Fruit Products
The fruits in our jams and fruit leathers come from widely different food families. Papaya is in the family, Caricaceae. Our papaya is naturally grown, and our papaya jam tastes much like sweet apricot jam. Mangos are in the Anacardiaceae family, as are cashews and pistachios. Our jam is made from naturally grown mangos; and the taste of our unsweetened mango jam is heavenly!! Star fruit (naturally grown) is also called carambola; it is in the family, Oxalidaceae. The ripe fruit is very sweet; unripe fruit is as tart as lemons. Both ripe and unripe fruit make good jams. All of our jams are available totally unsweetened. It is hard to describe just how good tasting these jams are.
