Identifying Special foods

Have you ever seen a real yam? A malanga? A white sweet potato? Every one of the starting materials (tubers, seeds, etc) for our foods is shown with beautiful pictures in this section, along with verbal descriptions of the plants and taxonomic classifications.

Important nutritional information, the results of nutritional analysis of our flours, may also be found in this section. Our flours are unique, particularly being very high in fiber. Please be sure to use this information in determining nutritional approaches using Special Foods!TM flours and flour derived products. Other data sources may provide different information, these differences are the reasons why Special Foods!TM flours can be used in ways not possible with other flours.

Each section also includes descriptions of products derived from that food source and what they tend to taste like.

Each of the fruits and tubers we use is from an entirely different food family, so everyone has a good chance of finding something to eat. Please remember that each food should be tested carefully to determine your specific tolerances. The fruits and flours may be used on succeeding days on rotation diets, if you rotate your foods, and may be used as often as you want, if you do not rotate your foods.

In the sections below we provide a general description of the fresh tuber, seed, or fruit we begin with, including physical descriptions and a picture, taxonomic information, nutritional breakdown of the flour, descriptions of some of the products we make from that item and descriptions of texture, taste along with some serving suggestions.
